On August 13, 2026, the first locally‑assembled V8E rolled off the assembly line at Geely Farizon’s Indonesian factory. This milestone puts Geely Farizon’s first overseas KD project into formal large‑scale operation. It also marks a key advance in the brand’s global‑localization strategy for Southeast‑Asian markets. Mike Fan, CEO of Geely Farizon New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, Cook Xue, General Manager of Geely Farizon Auto International, Hartono Sohor, Chairman of Arista Group, and Denny Siregar, President Director of Handal Indonesia Motor attended the offline ceremony. Local partners and industry guests witnessed the landmark occasion.
Located about 80 kilometers southeast of Jakarta, the factory benefits from convenient transport links and mature local industrial supporting facilities. It can now carry out local assembly for the V8E. Later upgrades will be carried out on production lines to enrich Geely Farizon’s local product lineup.
Compared with fully‑built‑unit imports, the KD production model helps streamline supply chain workflows and shorten delivery cycles. It supports customized vehicles suited to local market demands. Local manufacturing also cuts comprehensive operating costs, boosts product competitiveness and builds a solid manufacturing foundation for Geely Farizon’s long‑term Indonesian‑market development.
The newly‑produced V8E has completed localized calibrations for Indonesia’s road conditions, logistics scenarios and tropical climate. Equipped with an 8.5m3 cargo compartment, the all‑electric vehicle can travel over 400 kilometers on one full charge. It balances loading capacity, driving range and flexible handling. The model fits urban last‑mile delivery, urban‑rural freight and intra‑city logistics, delivering efficient, low‑carbon and affordable new energy commercial vehicle solutions for Indonesian operators.
“Geely Farizon does not merely export vehicles to Indonesia. We aim to take root in the country, integrate into local industrial chains and build sustainable local‑based capacity together with Indonesian partners,” Mike Fan stated. “This KD factory is Geely Farizon’s first overseas knock‑down production base. Relying on local manufacturing, we will build end‑to‑end capacity covering products, production, supply chains and after‑sales services, and develop vehicles adapted to local roads and market needs.”
Geely Farizon has pushed forward phased local deployment ever since it entered Indonesia in 2026. In January, Geely Farizon teamed up with Arista Group to enter the Indonesian market and unveiled its SV for the brand’s local debut. Its V7E and 16‑seat minibus SV were showcased at Indonesia’s GIIAS in April to diversify available vehicle choices. At GIIAS 2026 in late July, the V8E made its overseas premiere. Geely Farizon now owns a complete product matrix covering cargo, passenger transport and urban distribution to satisfy core local commercial‑transport requirements. Ongoing market exploration accelerates Geely Farizon’s project schedule and improves its local operation system in Indonesia.
The V8E roll‑off marks a brand‑new starting point for Geely Farizon’s deeper Southeast‑Asian expansion. Going forward, Geely Farizon will refine localized vehicles and service systems and strengthen local operational capabilities in Indonesia. The Indonesian KD factory will serve as Geely Farizon’s strategic pivot within the ASEAN region. We will deepen cooperation with local partners, export proven new energy commercial vehicle technologies and green mobility solutions, and support logistics‑sector electrification and high‑quality development across Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
